Matt Lauer responds to sexual harassment allegations

A day after NBC announced his firing, Matt Lauer said Thursday that he is “truly sorry” for the pain he has caused.

Lauer stands accused of sexual harassment by multiple women. At least three women have filed complaints with NBC. Former “Today” anchor Matt Lauer addressed a growing spate of allegations that he harassed and assaulted women during his tenure at the NBC morning institution, apologizing for his actions and vowing to fix the damage he caused.

Lauer said: “There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly,” Lauer said in a statement that was released by a personal publicist and formed the bulk of the top story on “Today” Thursday morning. “Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I’m committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job. The last two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws. It’s been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. I thank them for their patience and grace.”

The annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show came to Asia for the first time last week. Filmed in Shanghai, 55 A-list models walked the runway in 87 outfits. The show took place in Pudong’s Mercedes-Benz Arena, which emitted Victoria’s Secret’s pink light in an UFO-like shape on the night of the show.

“It was the first time doing it in an arena stadium. The stadium was massive and we could feel the audience presence, and it was so awesome,” said Martha Hunt. “This year we had a whole mosh pit in front fill up. This is closest thing I felt like a rock star and then everybody on stage, the performances. Shanghai was the sexiest city. It’s so fun and felt like being a part of the future.”

What was it like having Harry Styles perform on the show?

“He opened the show to a very sexy collaboration. The first time doing the show with a designer, Balman and it was the punk section,” said Hunt. “The entire lingerie collection will be on sale after the show airs on the 29th and that collection is sick.”

Gary Goddard Takes Leave Of Absence Amid Sexual Molestation Allegations

Gary Goddard on leave after Anthony Edwards’ molestation accusations

Hollywood designer Gary Goddard is taking leave from his company amid accusations of sexual misconduct. “We believe this move is in the best interest of the company, its employees and clients,” says Goddard Group chief operating officer Barry Kemper.

Kemper said the leave will allow the company and its employees to continue their projects undistracted by the allegations of sexual misconduct, adding, “We believe this move is in the best interest of the company, its employees and clients.”

Goddard has denied accusations from actor Anthony Edwards and another actor, who say Goddard molested them when they were children.

Goddard has designed several theme park attractions based on Hollywood films. He has worked as a Broadway producer and directed 1987’s “Masters Of The Universe,” a live action film based on the He-Man cartoon.

Jeffs has served for more than 14 years as director of design at the Goddard Group, working on international theme parks, museums, retail centers, destination resorts and live entertainment projects. He previously worked for Walt Disney Co.

His leave of absence from the Goddard Group is effective immediately. The company’s statement did not indicate when Goddard might return.

In Edwards’ letter, the former “ER” actor wrote: “I did not go from being a victim to a survivor alone. No one does. I had to ask for help, and I am so grateful that I did.”

Rappers Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z dominate this year’s shortlists – while pop behemoths Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are overlooked. Jay-Z is the leader of the 2018 Grammy Award nominations in a year where the top four categories are heavily dominated by rap and R&B artists, giving the often overlooked genres a strong chance of winning big.

Jay-Z’s personal and revealing album, “4:44,” is nominated for album of the year alongside Mars’ 90s-inspired R&B adventure “24K Magic,” Lamar’s hard-hitting rap masterpiece “DAMN.,” Gambino’s funk-soul project “Awaken My Love!” and Lorde’s critically acclaimed pop album, “Melodrama.”

Record of the year nominees include Jay-Z’s “The Story of O.J.,” a song about blackness and managing money that also references O.J. Simpson; Mars’ Top 5 hit, “24K Magic”; Lamar’s No. 1 smash, “Humble”; Gambino’s “Redbone,” which peaked at No. 12 on the Hot 100; and the year’s biggest hit, “Despacito,” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber.

“Despacito” is also nominated for song of the year — a songwriter’s award — along with Mars’ No. 1 hit, “That’s What I Like”; the title track from Jay-Z’s “4:44”; rapper Logic’s suicide prevention anthem, “1-800-273-8255”; and “Issues” by Julia Michaels, the singer who has written hits for Bieber, Selena Gomez and other pop stars.

Ed Sheeran’s third record, Divide, was largely snubbed. It did not receive a best album nod; instead, it was included in the best pop vocal album category alongside Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, Kesha, Lady Gaga and Imagine Dragons. His single Shape of You received a nomination for best pop solo performance. Taylor Swift’s single Look What You Made Me Do was eligible, but received no nominations.

Things To Know About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding

How did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle meet?

Prince Harry, 33, and Los Angeles-born Markle, 36, met for the first time in London in July 2016, when they were introduced by a mutual friend, Markle confirmed in an interview with Vanity Fair in September.

A close friend of Harry’s confirmed to PEOPLE in late October 2016 that the pair had been dating seriously for around two months, meaning as of Nov. 2017 the pair have been together for roughly 15 months.

On Nov. 8 2016, the Royal Kensington Palace released a public statement in which Markle was referred to as Harry’s girlfriend for the first time.

Prince Harry and Markle were photographed in public together for the first time in Dec. 2016, shopping for a Christmas tree at the Pines and Needles store in London.

Markle attended her first public event with Harry in May this year, at the Coworth Park Polo Club in Ascot, England.

The pair made their first public appearance together at the opening ceremony of the international Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada, in September.

Markle commented on her relationship for the first time in September, in her interview with Vanity Fair in which she referred to Harry as her “boyfriend” numerous times. “We’re a couple,” she told the magazine. “We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time.”

She added: “This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”

The event will take place in Spring 2018, but details about the nuptials remain under wraps. Prince Harry and Markle could opt for a large royal wedding like Prince William and Duchess Kate’s 2011 nuptials or choose a low-key ceremony somewhere outside of London, such as St. George’s Chapelat Windsor Castle, where Harry’s father, Prince Charles, had a service of blessing with his second wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, in 2005.

Prince Harry is to marry his American actor girlfriend Meghan Markle in spring next year, Clarence House has announced.

The couple, who have been dating since the summer of 2016, secretly got engaged earlier this month.

In a statement, Prince Charles said he was “delighted to announce” his son’s news and said that Ms Markle’s parents had given their blessing.

The wedding will take place in the spring. The venue was not immediately revealed with royal officials saying more details would be announced “in due course.” Harry’s grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, said they are “delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness.”

Markle, 36, is three years older than Harry, and is divorced. Markle was married to movie producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013. Markle stars in the TV drama “Suits,” now in its seventh season on the USA cable network. The show is filmed in Toronto, and Harry, who served two tours of Afghanistan with the British army, has visited her there several times.

Markle spoke about her relationship with Harry in a Vanity Fair interview published in September.

“We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time,” she told the magazine.

Actress Naya Rivera Arrested

Glee Star Naya Rivera Arrested

Naya Rivera, best known for her role in “Glee,” has been charged with domestic battery in West Virginia. She was taken into custody and her bail was set at $1,000, according to local news station WSAZ. She was released on a PR bond and reportedly picked up by her father-in-law.
According to Dorsey, they had an argument while taking their 2-year-old son Josey on a walk in Chesapeake, West Virginia. After having spoken to the police and turning over video Dorsey had allegedly taken with his phone of Rivera striking him, the actress was picked up by the cops.

Deputies also say that Rivera was drunk during the alleged altercation. It is unclear if Dorsey was under the influence at the time, according to investigators. Rivera allegedly hit Dorsey in the head and bottom lip. Dorsey did not require any medical attention, according to deputies.

Both Rivera and Dorsey are actors. One of Rivera’s most well-known roles is as Santana Lopez on the television series “Glee.” Dorsey has appeared on shows including “Pitch” and “Nashville.”

Rance Howard, actor dad of director Ron Howard has died

Hollywood Actor Rance Howard, The Father of Director Ron Howard, died Saturday. He was 89.

The elder Howard also was the father of actor Clint Howard and grandfather of actresses Bryce Dallas Howard and Paige Howard.

He appeared in several of Ron Howard’s films, including Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Splash, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Parenthood and Grand Theft Auto.

Other film credits include Chinatown and the 2013 drama Nebraska. On television, he appeared on many series including Seinfeld, Murder, She Wrote, NCIS: Los Angeles, Grey’s Anatomy and Ron Howard’s starring series, Happy Days.

Rance Howard was married to Ron and Clint’s mother, Jean Speegle Howard, until her death in 2000. Later, he married Judy Howard, who died in January.

His son, director Ron Howard, reported on his father’s passing in a late-afternoon tweet. Actors, writers and directors immediately tweeted tributes and condolences.

Egypt mosque attack leaves at least 235 dead in Sinai Peninsula

At least 235 people were killed when gunmen opened fire and bombed a mosque in Egypt’s volatile Sinai Peninsula on Friday. Government officials said 109 more had been injured in the attack — among the deadliest in Egypt’s history.

The local Islamic State affiliate — Sinai Province — appeared to be responsible for the gruesome incident, in the first attack on a large mosque since the militants began their terror campaign in 2013, the Associated Press reported.

Police said militants in four off-road vehicles carried out the attack during prayers at the al-Rawdah mosque in the town of Bir al-Abd, located 25 miles from the regional capital of el-Arish. The militants stopped people from escaping by blowing up cars and leaving the burning wrecks blocking the roads, police said.

Police sources told the Associated Press that men in four off-road vehicles opened fire on worshippers in the al-Rawdah mosque in the town of Al Rawdah. NBC News could not immediately independently verify that account.

Two eyewitnesses and a security source told Reuters that the suspected militants targeted supporters of the security forces attending prayers. Citing official sources, the state-run MENAnews agency reported that the mosque is largely attended by Sufi Muslims — a form of Islam considered heretical by some conservatives and extremists like the Islamic State group.

President Donald Trump is denouncing what he’s calling the “Horrible and cowardly terrorist attack on innocent and defenseless worshipers (sic) in Egypt.”

Weinstein is under investigation by police in New York, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and the U.K. for sexual assault accusations made against him. He has denied claims of non-consensual sex.
